Yes, he was quite a large dog. We expect Skidmark Jr to be just as big, if not bigger......

I see a new bed in my future.....

I move Ellie's dogie bed into the bedroom at night. She will typically sleep on that until the sun is bright enough to wake her up and then she usually jumps on my bed, and curls up next to me. She will usually make an attempt to get under the covers, if she can she will curl up under the covers next to me. Its funny that she isn't one of those dogs that wake you up, and are like come on feed me. When I finally have hit the snooze button for the last time and get up, she all ways has the look on her face like, "come on why can't we sleep some more?" I actually like this solution the best, because at first when I first got her, I would let her sleep in the bed all night, but she would kick me and wake me up throughout the night, this way I only get disturbed when I am supposed to be awake anyway.

I work grave shift, so Tank sleeps in the bed with my boyfriend. He started doing this because he is partially deaf and wouldn't hear Tank signal that he had to go out in the middle of the night when he was potty training, Tank was too scared to jump off the bed on his own so he'd wake up my bf to take him out to potty. Tank now sleeps through the night and jumps on and off the bed by himself, but he hasn't had any nightly accidents for months. He is a bed hog though and likes to sleep touching my bf and under the blankets if he gets cold.
When I'm sleeping during the day Tank will do his own thing and join me when he wants to nap. He is like an alarm clock though cause every day around the same time he comes onto the bed to wake me up for the day, but I like being woken up by him instead of an annoying clock!

I am a very poor disciplinarian, therefore, Bailey sleeps where ever he wants, and my boyfriend and I sleep around him. Most nights I get a whack on my head from the paw which translates as "open up the covers and let me in".

In my 52 years of life and 5 or 6 dogs in that time, I would have never thought a dog would be in my bed until I got Emma!! Now I can not sleep without her!! They are just the best dog ever!!!!

How I know "the paw". I usu go to bed when hubby does at 10pm. He has to be at work by 8 am and I do not till at least 2 pm so I usu read till about 230. Sophie will play in the bedroom till I turn off the light. She will then whine at the bottom of the ramp we put on the bed for our yorkie. Sophie will not go up it till we move the chihuahua from the bed at top of the ramp who is guarding it. She will then paw my head till I move the covers enough for her to get under them. All out dogs do the paw thing when they want attention. It's a lot easier when it's the littler ones.

I let Daisy take naps with me on the weekends, but the rest of the week she sleeps in her doggy bed in my closet... weird, I know.

Packs sleep together, it's natural. I don't think it would change any hierarchy to let it happen. Daisy is always trying to sleep on top of a family member, and groom us too.

Both of our Bostons sleep with us. We have never had a flee or tick problem with any of them including our 90 collie. Mack II has assumed the place in the parking garage- between our pillows just like Mack I . Daisy goes by mommies feet under the covers. They are lovely gentle little dogs and I couldn't imagine not letting them in with us. Today dogs are clean and healthy so why not let them enjoy the bed too?
Both of our Mack's were kept on- chicken wire- Mack I and Mack II on a concrete floor with no padding. Daisy was kept in a kennel that was 5 inches shorter than she. How could they not deserve a nice soft bed to sleep on? So call me soft but they will always be in our bed too. LOL!
