Default Badger and the shakes
Old 03-06-2010, 03:54 PM   #1 (permalink)

Thought it maybe good to post on here some issues I have been having with Badger that may help some others and see if anyone else has had the same.

Badger is not a normal dog in the sense of comparing her to all the other dogs I have owned in my life.

She freaks out a lot many times for no apparent reason.

In 2009 at 3 am she was restless, rigid and shaking nothing could snap her out of it. Then I took her outside and she was fine. She did not want to come back in the house this lasted 18 hours.

Then yesterday she did the same thing and I think I have worked out what it is. It is always when she just wakes up and there is an unusual noise . She woke up folled me out of the room and I went downstairs to put washing in and you have to slam the door to close it. She was shaking and rigid again but again as soon as we were outside she was fine.

She is very skittish and has problems with many things.

Anyone else have similar problems?

It sounds to me as though she may be having seizures. Do a little research. It isn't unusual for dogs to have epilepsy. And don't fear - it is typically easy to control with medication.

The vet ruled this out before. It really is like something spooks her.

Many people at the Boston Meet ups in London say their dogs have similar conditions.

We are off to the vet tomorrow as Badger is now sick and cannot keep anything down or in.

I have never had a dog that has caused me so much worry
