Default scared or spoilt

My Sophie plays all the time with our chi. They are best friends. But at night Puff (chi) sleeps at the foot of the bed, 1/2 out of the cover. Right at the top of the ramp we have on our bed for the dogs to go up and down on. Sophie will sometimes get off the bed before Puff settles. When Sophie tries to come up the ramp, Puff will make little growling noises. So Sophie will sit at the end of the ramp and whine. If Sophie gets up in the night, wanting off the bed, she will climb up on hubby and whine. As soon as hubby realizes it, he will pick Puff up till Sophie gets where she wants to be. My thought is either she is worried about hurting Puff, scared of Puff or just spoilt.
It is really kinda cute when a 4.5 lb dog makes a 12.3 lb dog take notice. Just wanted your thoughts.

Sounds like Puff is alpha and both of them are spoiled! My westie CAN jump up on the bed, but she prefers to stand there and cry to be picked up. I NEVER pick her up, but occassionally the hubby does. I told him she will always cry if she sees that it works.

I admit all three of my babies are spoilt. I also have a 3 yr old yorkie. The funny thing is when Puff and Sophie play, we worry more about Puff, not only due to the sizes but the fact that Sophie drags her around by her tail. Not that Puff really complains. I just wish Gypsy (yorkie) got along as good with her. She is the true alpha in the house I think. We call her the referee at times.

We have a small 7lb 13 year old cat that controls Murphy at 22lbs. Murphy knows for some things she is boss, was here first and not to mess with her. Everyone likes control somewhere.
