Does anyone get this for their BT before vaccinations? We have always done so for our Yorkie and Chi . We were told best cause they are so small. Then with Sophie they sd Bostons are likely to have a reaction to the shots so they recommend them. Just wondering if this is just a ploy for more money. They usu give a shot 15 minutes before the shot. Wondering if could just give baby benadry before I go to the vet since they recommend that after the shot if probs after the shot wears off.

I never get the shot for my BT and he's been fine. Every dog reacts differently so Im not too much help, but what I can say is if you do give him something give him regular benadryl, not baby benadryl. When Olli was having an allergic reaction the vet told me to give him benadryl...so I asked if they meant baby benadryl because he is so little and they told me that has asprin in it so only give him the regular kind

None of the Vets I have used over the years has ever mentioned or recommended those shots. Sounds like a money maker to me. None of my dogs have ever had any reactions either.

Yeah--I'd refuse them simply because they will add stress to the immune system; I have a very sensitive boy and I'd boost his immune system rather than give him Banadryl. A good litmus test would be to know the schedule your vet recommends--is he vaccinating every year? Every three, even after a certain age? Then he really doesn't care much about reactions and such in your dog (especially if he does every year--then it's just to get you in for a visit and some extra cash).

I got my Scrappy on Jan. 15th and took him on the 20th for his 2nd set of shots. The Vet didn't recommend him for any Benedryl but I was back at his office about 45 mins after I left because his face was all swollen. I will be getting the shots before from now on.
