Turns out he has an abscess in his anal gland that is impacted. So they said he has to go to the vet basically after the surgery every month for his life to have his anal gland drained. Poor dude is only 1.

He also has a "cryptorchid" that needs to be removed anyway. They explained its like a hernia from his testicles not descending properly.

So he's scheduled for Friday. Wish me luck. I'm super-nervous.

my that sounds horrible. Poor baby, poor wallet too. What were his symptoms? Is it a visual thing? My little Mr. Snubs had been having blood in his stool and the vet says it's because he has worms and it's irritation to his intestine. He's been doing this on and off ever since I got him at the end of Dec. He's been wormed twice. He's very active so it is not affecting his healh. Hope the Doc's got the diognoses right.

well he was licking his butt (more than usual) for a few days, and finally it occured to me it was a lot. So he had a red sore on it, (from dragging it on the carpet)

mmmmmm Snubby is to fat to lick his butt. I don't see any sores so I'll see how the latest worming goes, Good luck to you. I hope all goes well. The thing about draining the annal glands I think I've heard where you can do that yourself. Your not the only one with that problem. The subject has been discussed on here before I believe. I'm sure someone on here will help you out.

oh and the 1st thing the vet checked him for was Parvo. So he's good there. Mr. Snubs is a little over 12 weeks and only one little BB has dropped. I check him daily hoping the other drops soon. My little Chi took a while longer than his brother. But finally success.

Well the antibiotics he was given got rid of the anal infection on its own without the surgery. He's still in there today getting his cryptorchid surgery.. Makes me so nervous.
