WOW! So glad everything turned out well in the end! Time to start reading about vaccines--we're doing the bare minimum here. And will most likely stop vaccines at 2 years with the exception of Rabies (legal obligation). Parvo, Adeno and Distemper are the main ones I vaccinate against. There is evidence that they can become immune to those diseases in the first few years and then never need another vaccine. You can get a Titer test to determine immunity (though my vet thinks those are a bit sketchy).
I personally vaccine at home; the vet sees my dogs for an annual check-up and CBC draw to check organ function and then they get rabies every 3 years. I do the booster shots on my own (saves a lot of money).
